Protect your feet with safety footwear
06 May 2011 by

When working at construction sites or any other equally dangerous working environment, it is important for employees to wear proper safety footwear. The construction site is one of the most dangerous professions when it comes to foot safety and it is vital that the employees are provided with adequate protection to prevent unfortunate events.
When working at the construction site, the danger areas can be classified into 3 main categories:
Sharp objects
One of the most common injuries that commonly affect employees working on construction sites is puncture wounds. It is common to find sharp objects such as nails, metal pipes and other metal objects scattered all over the site. For this very reason, it is important to wear safety footwear that has protective soles and so prevents the entry of sharp objects into the employee’s feet.
Uneven or slippery surfaces
Even with the best project management at the construction site, you are likely to find piles of debris or discarded building materials. Safety footwear not only protects your feet but also provides you with proper grip and comes with slip-resistant soles that prevent unwanted slips and falls.
Heavy materials
Another common injury at construction sites are crushing injuries, as heavy building materials such as pipes, bricks and even steel girders are frequently moved around. Safety shoes with steel toes not only protect your feet from getting crushed but also provide your feet with support and comfort.
