Be safe: wear the right clothing at your workplace

Working with the right tools and equipment for the right job is essential. When working onsite or in a construction area, it is imperative to wear the suitable clothes and apparel when any kind of work or task is performed.

Wearing improper clothing can lead to accidents. On evaluation, 30 percent of the total accidents are caused due to incorrect clothes worn by employees. These accidents are easily avoidable if the right kind of workwear is worn and simple precautions are taken. These are stated below:

Do not wear garments which are too loose or too tight. Wear the right sized clothes.

The material of the workwear should be suitable to the purpose of the work.

The boots should be in terms with the required safety regulations, i.e. non slip soles, steel toe caps, resistant to oil etc.

The head gear should also abide by the safety rules and regulations. It should fit the head properly and securely.

With just a few simple steps and precautions, fatal accidents can be avoided.

It is the duty of the employers to advise, help and provide the right kind of clothing to all employees. It is essential for employers to provide employees with the necessary instructions and guidelines, so they can carry out their duties and also at the least risk of injury or accidents occurring.
