Different types of safety clothing used at sites

Power tools and heavy machinery are used for a variety of reasons, at the roadside, on a construction site or while renovating homes. It is not only important to consider the proper usage of these tools but also very important to wear the right safety clothing. Use of safety clothing is one of the ways to keep oneself protected from injuries and mishaps.
It is important that the clothing must be snug-fitting and sturdy when operating heavy machinery. Scarves, loose fitting jackets, flared or cuffed pants, jewellery and even unconfined long hair should be avoided at work sites as these things could become tangled in the machines.
When handling a machine it is vital to protect your hands as much as possible. Heavy duty non-slip gloves will protect your hands and at the same time will improve your grip on the machinery.
Proper footwear is one of the most important things to consider in your work. You must wear sturdy and strong boots with non-slip soles. Steel-toed safety boots are suggested for the usage of most heavy machinery.
Never operate a machine unless you wear fitted safety glasses or protective goggles to reduce the risk of injury to your eyes. You can also use a mask that will protect your mouth, nose and eyes from the dust created.
A hard hat or safety helmet is vitally important. This will protect your head when working on the site. If you are working in extremely loud conditions then it is necessary to wear ear protectors that will keep your ears protected from loud noise.
