Thermals - Important work wear during the winter >>
Construction site jobs- Second most dangerous job in UK
07 February 2011 by

Many new buildings that are being constructed have innovative architecture and are stunningly high rising. Naturally, the people working in the construction industry have to face dangers on a daily basis. Mostly, the authorities ignore the safety wear requirements of the workers and try to skip making small investments on the safety wear of the work force.
Although the laws are binding they ignore them until a mishap occurs and they are dragged to the court where usually they have to pay heavy compensation to the affected family and hinder their company’s reputation.
The workers on the other hand ignore the necessity of proper safety wear and keep having accidents. Due to these reasons construction site jobs have been rated as the second most dangerous jobs in the country. A survey has shown that in every 1000 work site deaths 72 deaths take place on constructions sites.
It has also been mentioned that the figures are true for the last five years. So now it is in the hand of the workers and construction companies if they want to do some small things to bring this surprisingly high figure down.
Making a little investment to make safety wear obligatory for the workers can lower the death toll and save the company’s honour and prestige.
Similarly if the workers take the initiative and demand proper safety wear or buy themselves the right kind of work clothing then the situation will improve surprisingly fast for their benefit.
