Importance of safety in building work
18 December 2010 by

If your premises are subjected to repair work, you need to take account of the prevalent building and construction regulations. Building regulations affect how fire safety is dealt with in the building and other aspects like structural stability, access, energy efficiency, safety work gear etc.
Workers should be provided with information about what would happen in the event of fire and appropriate means of escape.
If you are in the construction industry or are a builder, you should pass the information on as to what fire safety measures are provided to workers. Information about fire doors, smoke detection, sprinklers, proper safety wear, safety clothing etc should be provided.
It is necessary to understand the importance of safety in building work. To avoid any accidents during construction, builders should keep in mind the key factors below:
Carry out risk assessment and identify possible dangers.
Think about safety measures for employees that are disabled and for those who work with hazardous chemicals.
Put in place safety precautions to deal with risks.
Record findings and review them.
