How to prevent accidents on construction sites
23 October 2010 by

Safety is one of the major concerns in any occupation. Every year, many workers suffer from accidents at the workplace. These accidents cause minor as well as major injuries. Some of the accidents cause physical injuries and in some cases they disrupt work. Construction workers are usually skilled labours who are trained for safety in such conditions.
There are many reasons for such accidents. Some of them may be caused due to malfunctioning of machinery, some due to faulty material, some due to negligence of employers and some due to inferior quality of tools. Accidents occurring on construction sites can make many hard working and loyal labourers feel unprotected, betrayed and in many cases cause frustration.
Most accidents are merely due to lack of proper safety workwear and safety footwear. Some workers simply do not realise the importance of wearing safety workwear and footwear. Due to injuries, workers have to sit at home and there is a loss of productivity. To overcome this, many of workers go to work even if the injuries are not properly healed.
This issue has to be addressed by employers. It is compulsory for the employees to have safety workwear and footwear before starting their daily work activities. If all employees wear proper safety clothing at work, most of the accidents and injuries at the workplace can be avoided.
