Protective clothing a must in a cement plant
16 September 2010 by
marcus
In a cement plant, the raw materials are heated at a temperature of around 800 degrees Celsius. This takes place in an open furnace system and it is quite risky for those who work there. Such work should be accomplished by workers only by using special protective equipment or clothes.
Due to the tremendous emissions of heat at a cement plant, it is a must for all the workers to wear some protective clothing before they enter the plant. The garments should be made of a heat proof material that can withstand the heat of hot flour (a raw material used in the furnace of a cement plant). With these special garments, the workers will not experience the tremendous amount of heat produced from the furnace. Safety workwear, such as jackets protect you from the heat and prevent blisters, burns etc. You can also wear safety boots to protect your feet while at work. Safety boots are made of nubuk leather and provide adequate protection for your feet.
The use of protective clothing is a must for any company that is involved in the manufacturing of cement. The company should take care of the safety of its employees. It is also suggested that the workers should always put on their protective clothing while they are on duty. There have been a lot of mishaps that have taken place inside a plant but the use of safety clothing will surely protect you from such accidents.
