Protect your head with Hard Hats
23 August 2010 by

In many work places - particularly in construction and mining - protection to the head against falling objects is very important. Head gear becomes of great importance because a head injury can be fatal if someone falls from a height during a building job.
At times simple protective measures are not given due importance, which exposes the workers to avoidable dangers. This kind of safety policy is not only in the interest of the employees concerned but also from the point of view of legislation of the Government for protection of workers.
There are many other types of protective gear depending on the nature of work. It is a fact that any worker who is well protected by adequate safety gear like hard hats will feel safe and secure while at work, and consequently will put in more work.
It is true that many times workers wear the head gear only because they are told to or the manuals say so. It is the duty of the employer to educate the worker on the importance of wearing the hard hats all the time whether there is impending danger or not. Especially workers at construction sites must use the helmets as the first line of protection against head injuries.
