Industrial Safety with Protective Clothing
21 August 2010 by

Regular clothing worn by a worker is not enough to protect him from certain workplace hazards. The regular clothing can expose him to various types of injuries or dangers. Protective work clothing, as the term suggests, protects the worker. There is huge market for these products all over the world.
Workwear comprises laboratory coats, shop coats, aprons, gloves surgical gowns and other safety clothing. The safety equipment range comprises head covers, goggles, prescription safety glasses and safety shoes. The Personal protective equipment (PPE) refers to helmets, goggles, other gears designed to protect against electrical hazards, heat, chemicals, and infection.
PPE is also used in work places where pesticides are used in abundance. They can also be used as a shield against pollution and infection to workers in a microchip factory. This kind of protection can be useful in the medical profession. Doctors and their assistants invariably use disposable gloves.
In a nutshell, every hazardous activity demands its own PPE designed to protect the participants.
